Maruia School is located in the heart of the Maruia Valley and is made up of nineteen students, seven staff, six board of trustees members, a fantastic PTA and an exceptionally supportive community.
Our vision is to realise each child’s unique potential so that they may find success. This is shown by the way we work together as a school and community to support our students to thrive while in our care.
We learn about our school values of manaakitanga, kaitiakitanga, arohatanga and whanaungatanga and practise these every day. These values are the backbone of the culture of our school.

Kia ora Maruia Community,
Please find attached our 2026 - 2028 Strategic Plan Community Survey. The Maruia School Board would greatly appreciate your input in shaping the direction of our school for the next three years. Your feedback will help us set our priorities for learning, our people, and our place.
Our students are excited to share their vision with you - they’ve created an awesome video to encourage you to have your say. Watch the video, then click the link to complete the survey.

Everyone who completes the survey can go in the draw to win one of two prizes: a $100 Prezzy Card or a pass to Maruia Springs. To enter, simply leave your name and number at the bottom of the survey (otherwise your responses will remain anonymous).
Please complete the survey by 3pm, Thursday 9 October.
If you have any questions, or would like to kōrero about your ideas in person, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Together we can shape the future of Maruia School for our tamariki.
Ngā mihi nui,
Kia ora whānau,
If you’d like your cookies/bars delivered by 8 October, please have your orders in to Nat (027 214 2121) by Tuesday 30 September.
Otherwise, the next delivery date will be 28 October.
Ngā mihi nui for your support!
Kia ora koutou,
Just a quick reminder, if your child is a bus student and won’t be attending school, please let the driver know. The same applies if you’re running a little late. When we don’t get a message, it has a flow-on effect for everyone: pick-up times for other families are delayed and it can even impact our school start time.
Sally-Ann will be driving again tomorrow, and Dallas will be back in the driver’s seat on Thursday.
Thanks heaps for helping us keep things running smoothly!
Ngā mihi,
Alex
